Project Outline

The purpose of the project is to develop a model to allow an embodied agent to recognise and navigate between a ‘home’ location and one or more ‘target’ locations, based on the current understanding of insect navigation.

It will investigate the use of classical artificial intelligence and embodied cognition principles to determine an appropriate structure for the model and then implement it in an embodied agent (either in simulation or robotic form, as determined by the initial research).

The agent will then be tasked through a series of tests and the results compared with those from previous studies into insect navigation.
